John Jack, Chair


Director

John Alan Jack lives with his family in the Oceanside area on Vancouver Island, where he was born and raised. He earned a BA with Distinction in Global Studies from what is now Vancouver Island University.

John is a third-term elected Member of Council for his self-governing tribe, the Huu-ay-aht First Nations, and has held diverse files in his portfolio: finance, economic development, law & policy development, and treaty implementation. He has participated directly in initiatives pertaining to self-governance, economic development and resource development in his homeland, across the province, and internationally. John has a passion for issues of political and economic reconciliation as well as an interest in intercultural identity and relations in business and politics.
