Director

Jennifer Brennan has worked with Indigenous communities across Canada for over 20 years. Her roles have focused on advancing social justice through advocacy, strategic direction and negotiation among diverse sectors. Jennifer served as Chief of Staff at the Assembly of First Nations, the national organization representing the 633 First Nations of Canada from 2012-2014 and prior to that served as Senior Director of Strategic Policy at the Assembly of First Nations for ten years.
Jennifer served as Senior Advisor at the University of Toronto’s Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, (2014-2016) where she helped facilitate linkages between Indigenous research expertise and critical policy considerations needed to address fundamental challenges in Indigenous education. She is also a Synergos Senior Fellow, a Board member of the Circle for Philanthropy and Aboriginal Peoples, a member of the Princes Charities Canada Advisory Council, and has been Executive Director of The Samuel Family Foundation (SFF) since May 2015.
