Programs + Research

Aimee Nygaard (MA) has 10+ years professional experience working across health and environmental sectors in fundraising + grants strategy, public outreach, community engagement,  research, and project management + evaluation. She has an MA in Sociology from the University of Toronto.

A fifth generation settler, born in the beautiful territory of the Nuxalk First Nation (Bella Coola), she is passionate about building strong partnerships and innovative programs that can advance both ecological and human health. Her academic contributions have been published in peer-reviewed journals including: Oxford Research Encyclopedia of Natural Hazard Science; Wellbeing, Space + Society; Journal of Water + Climate Change; International Journal of Mental Health + Addiction.

She has worked and volunteered with Gathering Voices Society since 2015, supporting the program development and evaluation, research goals, knowledge translation, and fundraising activities of the organization. Previously, Aimee was the Senior Manager, Strategy, for the BC Women's Health Foundation.
