William is also a Research Fellow in the Department of Forest Resources Management, Faculty of Forestry at the University of British Columbia, Canada. Since 2000, William has been working with Aboriginal organizations, governments and corporations in Australia and Canada to help achieve their objectives, including gaining greater control over their economies and natural resources, and designing governance mechanisms to support these objectives. William's work has been published in leading peer reviewed journals, including the Journal of Hydrology, International Public Management Journal, Water Policy, Canadian Journal of Forest Research, Organization and Environment, Journal of Water and Climate Change, and Community Development. William recently co-edited a book published by Routledge, entitled "Forests and Globalization: Challenges and Opportunities for Sustainable Development."       <image:caption>Russell Myers Ross (MA), member of the Tsilhqot’in Nation and Yunesit’in. Russell has a Masters of Indigenous Governance from the University of Victoria (2010). He was elected Chief of Yunesit’in Government for 8 years from 2012-2020. In the two, four-year terms, he was influential in helping establish capital projects, housing capacity, lands related projects, economic activities that have led to businesses, language revitalization plans and programs, and nation-level projects such as the 1 Mega Watt Tsilhqot’in Solar Farm.  In addition, with support from Gathering Voices Society, Russell has proactively sought activities to prevent future wildfires and restore the damage that impacted the Tsilhqot’in landscape from the 2017 wildfires. Since then, the community has piloted and participated in several seasons of preventative burns. The activities have led towards the development of the Yunesit’in Fire Stewardship program and has had a wide array of interest and attention from media, committees and advisory groups.</image:caption>

Jennifer served as Senior Advisor at the University of Toronto’s Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, (2014-2016) where she helped facilitate linkages between Indigenous research expertise and critical policy considerations needed to address fundamental challenges in Indigenous education. She draws on an interdisciplinary and diverse cultural background, integrating multiple ways of knowing and methodologies in her work with communities, Nations, and programs throughout Canada. Jonaki is Indian and English-Irish, born in WSANEC territory. She is part of the core team working to establish Dasiqox-Nexwagwez?an (Tsilhqot’in Protected Area) and has been learning from and working with Tsilhqot’in communities since 2006.
